Description
Picture yourself surrounded entirely by the endless blue, braced by a dramatic backdrop of craggy pink rocks. Here is a perfectly designed experience for beach and nature lovers that will see you set sail around the uninhabited island paradise of Polyaigos.
Just grab a coffee, your local breakfast on board is waiting for you! From the picturesque port of Psathi, on the island of Kimolos, we embark for the island of Polyaigos, just 1.07 nautical miles southeast.
Did you know that Polyaigos is the largest uninhabited island in the Mediterranean Sea? Once a hub of great mineral wealth during the Mesolithic or Neolithic era, these days it’s mainly used as a pasture for the many contented goats who call it home (the name "Polyaigos" means many goats).
Your destination angel, a professional skipper, will unveil all the highlights of this mesmerising island. Expect to discover astonishing blue waters (your private pools for the day), dreamy deserted bays and dramatic volcanic outcrops as well as the charming monastery of Virgin Mairy. You will also have plenty of time to take the plunge in a number of different bays, each one more stunning than the last.
Our Polyaigos adventure next takes us to an old tracheitis quarry, once the source for the millstones that were used to grind wheat and barley into flour. Get ready to swim inside caves, leap off rocks and explore pristine waters with the aid of snorkelling masks. Finally, the natural port of Faros looms, with its lighthouse; a sleepless guardian of sailors. You might also meet the famous four-legged residents of the island.
During our sail you shall enjoy different flavours in your lunch from the Cycladic islands, to complete your immersive experience. You can enjoy your favourite music by just bringing your usb stick!
